Charlie Knox, Benicia Community Development
Director, contacted the project architect who acknowledges that the "chip" used for approval of the color is not what is on the building.
The color will be "corrected" according to the architect. We will keep
a watch on this....

The last coat of pain [sic] has not been applied yet.
The existing paint color is actually the one approved through design review but applied on the building it does not look like it does on the color board or sample chip (which is why essentially it is indeed "wrong").
The architect and business owner have agreed to apply a more muted color for the last coat (they did not agree to the patch color on the east side), but the developer wants first to replace the turquoise window glazing with gray (an expensive fix) before adding the last coat because he believes it's the yellow/turquoise contrast that makes the yellow look too bright.
If that doesn't improve the look significantly, we'll continue to push for a more muted final coat.
